for “time of the end” and you’ll get 779 million hits. Now that is a real
audience, and it seems that everyone now has a book spouting the latest
theory. When will these events happen? Well, nobody really knows for sure.
Instead, the world is full of speculators. 13.3 million Jews await the birth and first coming of their
Messiah. 2.2 billion Christians await the second coming of their Messiah, and
2.1 billion Muslims await the coming of the Mahdi or twelfth Imam. This
amounts to 4.31 billion people of the world’s 7 billion, mostly descendants
of Abraham’s two sons, Isaac and Ishmael, who are speculating about some type
of divine intervention from above. One of the tools speculators use is time-patterns.
If there is a Designer, there must be design. There must be a pattern found
in the eras of the world. To
support this view, Jewish historians have recorded all kinds of patterns in
chronology. For example, the temple was destroyed twice. Both times were in
the same month, same week of the year, same day of the week, in the same year
of the sabbatical cycle. Moreover, the Romans plowed Jerusalem on that same
date at the end of the Bar Kochba revolt in 135 AD. Perhaps this is evidence
of an Unseen Hand reaching into our world, leaving a mark on our doorpost or
writing on our wall. What we are about to explore in more detail is a
curious, 251-year pattern which has been left hidden until now, a pattern
which can be found in all the writings of Moses, from Genesis to the exodus
of the Israelites from Egypt. Moreover, there is a 49-year pattern that is
interrelated with it. Therefore, perhaps dates are based on mythology or
numerology and are unreliable, or perhaps these are signs of a divine
pattern. From Abraham to Joseph My first personal insight was found in a curious
mathematical structure in the lives of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. A reference
book I found in a local library in 1980 said that Abraham’s life span equals
52 x 7 (175 years); Isaac’s was 62 x 5 (180 years), and
Jacob’s was 72 x 3 (147 years). The total life spans of all three,
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, equal 502 years (251 x 2). I went home from the library and decided to see
how far I could expand this pattern, but first I converted these square numbers
(25 x 7, 36 x 5 and 49 x 3) into 175, 180, and 147 years, which equal 502
years. So the lives of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob covered 502 overlapping
years, that is, 251 times two. Next, I found that Abraham was 100 when he had
Isaac. Isaac was 60 when he had Jacob, and Jacob was 91 when he had Joseph;
so there were 251 years from Abraham’s birth to Joseph’s birth, exactly half
of 502 years. A verifiable pattern began to emerge in only one day of
research. What next? Was there an important event 251 or 502 years before or
after these patriarchs? How far could I expand this? |
