NOTE: The outstanding feature of TABLE 12 is that Creation is dated as 3993 BC, that is, 6,000 years before 2007 AD (2008 after adding year 0). This date for Creation is achieved by allowing 247 (instead of 277) years from Solomon to the Assyrian captivity of Israel.

It is also achieved by adding 36 years between Eli and David’s seventh year if it were actually 56 years instead of 20. Here is the rationale:

There were allegedly either 590, 479 or 251 from the exodus to the temple. I Kings 6:1 indicates the temple was founded 479 years after the exodus. However, there appears to be 251 years from the Exodus to David’s seventh year, when he captured Jerusalem and brought in the Ark. The rabbinic tradition says that, after the death of Eli, the Ark was at the house of Abinadab 20 years and was then brought to Jerusalem by king David. David ruled in Jerusalem 33 years, and Solomon founded the temple after three years. This makes 36 years to the temple. So the rabbinic tradition says the temple was founded 56 years after the death of Eli (20 + 36 = 56).

Figures of Josephus indicate that David brought the Ark to Jerusalem 56 years after Eli’s death. It had likely been removed and returned by Samuel and Saul after the initial 20 years.

What this implies is that the era of the temple may likely have been confused with the era of Jerusalem, which began 36 years earlier, and there were likely 251, 479 or 590 years from the Exodus to David (instead of from the Exodus to the temple).

Nevertheless, some may doubt that the six generations between the Exodus and David (Mat. 1:17) can actually fill a time span of 479 years. Each generation would need to average 80 years, whereas, all that generation over age 20 which left Egypt died in the wilderness in forty years, and the life span at that time was 70 years, except by strength, 80 years. Men were unlikely age 80 when having children, especially not the average age.
